Our gorgeous friend Bek from Those Who Run has been kind enough to show us around her favourite places to hang out, eat and sip coffee at in Port Macquarie. As a reasonably new resident to the area she has spent her days checking out all that the city has to offer and we know you won't be disappointed by her selections.

FIND IT AT : 16/20 Murray St, Port Macquarie

MUST TRY : Baked Portobello Mushroom. Poached egg, goats cheese, a baked mushroom and kale pesto on fresh soft bread. Yum! Perfect way to kick off the day. Simple, fresh and the perfect size!

WHY I LOVE IT : this new little espresso bar is always buzzing with joy and life, from the staff to the customers, it overflows with great vibes! The coffee is next level tops and always goes down well! It is a cosy environment, with stunning industrial concrete stripped back floors, white basics with pops of colour! You can purchase your weekly fresh blooms every Thursday and find raw treats that taste good without leaving you with the guilt of indulging; ideal! To top it all off, everything is accompanied by the greatest people who serve and create food and coffee with love and never fail to connect with each customer. The raw caring feel of this place never fails to brighten my days!

FIND IT AT : Shop 1 151 Gordon St, Port Macquarie, NSW.

MUST TRY : Spiced eggs or Granola Bar. These two dishes are the perfect way to start your day. If you are into light fresh fruity breakfasts, the Granola Bar is ideal! Granola pressed into a simple bar, accompanied by light coyo and a range of fresh seasonal fruits. Generally this includes strawberries, banana, kiwi fruit, passionfruit and occasionally mango. Along with this beautiful combination of granola, coyo and fruit is some blueberry acia! So much goodness of one plate; crazy good I know! The spiced eggs are ideal if you love a good protein kick to start off your day! Poached eggs, fresh avocado, dukkah, halloumi.

WHY I LOVE IT : From spray painted artwork, to greenery and palm trees and hanging lights, this space automatically invites a relaxed vibe. The outdoor garden is perfect for families with young ones or for the morning hit of sun soaking with a fresh magazine and a perfect coffee; this is where you’ll find me most mornings! However, the thing that gets me back to this rad place every day is the sweet sweet crew who are there everyday, serving and creating with smiles. They have fostered an environment that creates personal and raw interaction with each customer, creating a culture of real community; this is what I truly love!

FIND IT : 11 Clarence Street Port Macquarie, NSW

MUST TRY : The Roast Mushroom Bruschetta, with crumbed feta, pesto, parmesan and truffle oil is a must try if you swing by the Corner Restaurant at lunch! It comes on soft fresh panini and is bursting with flavour! Along with this, the Corner Deluxe Burger is a great meal to hit for lunch. Served on a fresh, soft brioche bun and filled with beetroot, swiss cheese, mixed salad and bacon, with a side of fries, this burger goes down a treat in the middle of the day!

WHY I LOVE IT : The Corner’s outdoor alfresco area provides your daily dose of sun with a refreshing sea breeze coming through from the waterside. The staff are friendly and personable and provide a perfect Campos coffee at any time of the day! This place is open and available from 7am- till late every day which is rare in a small coastal town; this is definitely a bonus! There is a great range of options on the menu and is close to the heart of town which makes it highly accessible and convenient. Overall, this place is your local spot, where you sit for hours on end enjoying sun, food and beverages with the comfort of friends or some peaceful alone time; either option is ideal!
