It's funny how we spend our lives making plans, dreaming and scheming about how we want things to work out only to find it usually all happens in the complete opposite way. I have always wanted to be a mum, but I had plans to have children when I was a little older, after I had achieved some things and travelled and built a home. Winnie entered my life in the most unexpected way and at the most unexpected time and true to form, she was completely not part of 'the plan'.
Although I was really thrown by the news I was pregnant and naturally freaked out for the entire 9 months of my pregnancy, she is a surprise I would definitely not wish to exchange. From the first day I met her I have been obsessed. Every time I look at her I am reminded of how blessed I am and I love that I am on this journey of watching her grow, learn and become everything she wants to be.
I have learnt that sometimes what you think is important actually doesn't turn out to be that important. Everyday she teaches me about what really matters and the value of true love. While being a mum is challenging, my life is so much more enriched and my perspectives and goals have changed. I have learnt to value each day, celebrate the small achievements and always looks for the good, even through the toughest of times.
Winnie is wild, full of life and has so much love to give. Here are a couple of snaps from a recent photo shoot we had together.
Hope you enjoy!
